Adaptive half toning increases the edge smoothness of text and graphics, while maintaining the quality of area fills to provide accurate, crisp edges. Trapping is the deliberate overlapping of one colour to an adjacent colour to reduce the effect of colour plane misregistration, resulting in accurate colour transitions.
