I have a HP LaserJet 4L printer. Yep, it's black and white but my background in graphic design and advertising means I can be really creative without having colour! My printer was bought in 1996 and was my first printer, I use it every day and it has been unbelievably reliable.
When I first bought it we had a little kafuffle and it would not go but the service line HP has astounded me with their patience and efficiency, even sending me a replacement while mine was sent back to Melbourne then ringing to see if the replacement arrived and worked well. In hindsight I suspect the problem was some software glitch but in any case I am still astounded at the service I received.
I have actually printed up to 10,000, true, pages from one cartridge and even though it is now quite elderly at 8 years old it has outlasted 2 'other brand' colour printers - which were gifts but not my choice. I guess I will eventually need to replace it and have my eye on a HP all in one and / or a laser colour printer.Whatever I decide it will be HP and I base my decisions on after sales service, then price and warranty.
Most of my friends are amazed at the age of my printer and the work it does, address labels, certificates for Junior AFL, newsletters for my business and my sons' school, letters, cards, invitations for my clients to give to their friends - the list is endless. I am so lucky I made this choice at a time when I knew absolutely nothing about computers or printers!
