- Back-up print mode—if error hiding fails (nozzles cannot be hidden by replacement), higher-pass print modes are initiated at the beginning of printing, in conjunction with error hiding, to prevent loss of information. This eliminates inconsistencies and preserves fine horizontal lines that are one dot wide.
