This is why some very clever technology from HP can play such an important role. Called HP ImageREt, it is a proprietary technology that has changed the way colour documents can be produced.
Why HP ImageREt makes the difference
HP ImageREt is a system of innovative technologies developed by HP that automatically delivers consistent and reliable colour quality without having to change driver settings or make trade-offs among print quality, performance, and memory.
ImageREt is an HP developed technology that provides 2,400 dots per inch (dpi) colour laser class quality through a multi-level printing process that controls colour by combining up to four colours within a single dot and by varying the amount of toner in a given area. As a result, ImageREt, together with the 600 x 600 engine resolution, creates millions of smooth colours, sharp images, and crisp text.
ImageREt provides the following:
- ImageREt enables automatically achieving colour print quality without any intervention.
- ImageREt provides quality output without any reduction in print speed.
- ImageREt uses the standard amount of printer memory.
In contrast, the single-level printing process found in the default mode of other colour laser printers does not allow the colours to be mixed within a single dot. This process, called dithering, significantly hinders the ability to create a wide range of colours without reduced sharpness or visible dot structure.
Integrated on all HP Color LaserJet printers and HP Color LaserJet MFPs , the system’s foundation is comprised of key colour laser technologies, including image enhancements, intelligent calibration, multiple colour themes, HP Smart supplies and high-resolution imaging to provide great colour right out of the box. What it adds up to is high print quality without increasing the amount of information that is transmitted through the network.
The result is that HP ImageREt delivers finer photographic details, solid fills, smoother transitions between colour, neutral greys and more colours. And that’s what brings your documents alive!
There are three levels of HP ImageREt, to suit user needs and include additional technologies as the level increases – HP ImageREt 2400 (high quality), HP ImageREt 3600 (professional quality) , and HP ImageREt 4800 (commercial quality).
