Have you heard the news in thin clients computing? Now you can match the right access device to the right users to gain exactly the features you want. After HP’s acquisition of Neoware, leading Linux®-based Thin Clients solutions and software can be combined with HP’s market-leading remote client solutions to provide the industry’s largest selection of thin clients.

Enhanced client security

Whether you select Neoware by HP or HP Compaq, you select a thin client designed to be more secure than traditional desktop PCs.The solid-state devices connect over a network to a server where all processing and storage takes place, greatly increasing data protection. Additionally, they can be easily configured to support smart card readers, lockable USB ports and secure USB wireless.

What’s new

In addition to providing a stronger Linux® Thin Client offer – one of the fastest growing thin client markets – the acquisition extends HP’s portfolio to include all-in-one and ruggedised thin clients. Plus Neoware technology adds advanced customisation capabilities which allow you to meet unique requirements, such as adapting images for specific end-user needs. Likewise, service and support capabilities are also expanded through Neoware’s expertise in server-based computing.

Easy to deploy and manage

Ready to run right out of the box, HP Thin Clients solutions help you spend less time on client deployment and management and more on strategic activities. Automation ensures faster, easier implementation. A selection of easy-to-use management software sinks deployment costs and complexity even further.

For example, HP Neoware Device Manager gets small-to-midsized businesses up and running fast, while Altiris Deployment Solution allows larger enterprises to deploy, administer and configure all data, users and applications from a central location.

Remote client solutions from HP

Already the broadest in the industry, HP’s portfolio of remote client solutions has expanded with the addition of Neoware by HP thin clients. Solutions include HP Microsoft Windows® XP, Windows CE and Linux-based thin clients, along with virtualised client solutions, such as blade PCs, blade workstations, virtual desktop infrastructure and server-based computing.

HP can deliver a solution from the data-centre to the desktop.

Designed with the environment in mind

Long lifecycles of existing HP and Neoware Thin Clients make it easy to plan and manage future transitions. Plus with up to 80 percent power savings over traditional desktop PCs, lower waste in packaging and HP’s innovative reuse and recycling programs the overall environmental impact is minimised.

Bringing more secure and efficient client computing to everyone

HP is committed to helping both current Neoware and HP Thin Clients customers throughout the transition period and beyond. Dedicated field specialists and worldwide development centres can help you clearly understand Thin Clients technologies, choose the best solution for your environment and ensure a speedy, successful transition. Ultimately, the goal of the acquisition is to better serve customers by combining the strengths of both companies and bringing new levels of ease and security to Thin Client computing.
