What is the Gartner Magic Quadrant?
For those that aren’t familiar with industry analyst Gartner’s ‘Magic Quadrant’ this might all sound a bit mysterious. In reality it’s very simple.
Gartner assesses the performance of all mainstream vendors in the LAN switching market and plots them on a graph based on two axes: Their "ability to execute" and their "completeness of vision".
From those findings Gartner has now placed HP ProCurve in the industry’s leaders’ box. A leader is defined as a company that has “demonstrated a sustained ability to meet the changing needs for mainstream LAN switching architectures. A leader also has an ability to shape the market and maintain strong relationships with its channels and customers, and has no major gaps in the portfolio”.
Now, such recognition from Gartner is all very well and good for us at HP but what does it mean to you? Actually, quite a lot.
