Protecting your company data while enabling mobile workers to be productive is not getting any easier anytime soon. Whether you’re managing ten PDAs and smartphones or 5,000, there are some challenges that you have to address:

  • Deployment
Having a different image for every device will drive your support staff crazy dealing with the variations.

  •  Policy compliance and push management
Often, in order to keep your devices compliant with the latest security patches and application delivery, you must find a way to effectively, quickly and easily push these capabilities to every user, everywhere.

  • Risk management
How do you allow your workforce to keep pace in the mobile world while still maintaining some level of control over your data?

  • Enormous increase in support calls
With a greater number of devices comes a greater number of calls to your support system, consuming ever greater resources.

  • Device diversity
You need one way to control and manage the wide variety of devices used – not 15 or 20.

Brilliantly simple deployment and management

HP Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) makes managing your mobile fleet more efficient and cost-effective with a wide range of functionality that stretches from deployment through day-to-day administration. Some specific capabilities of EMS that address management challenges include:

  • Over-the-air (OTA) provisioning and setup
OTA data networks are easy to set up, provide a superior end-user experience and assure accuracy and consistency. Simple one-click triggers configure new devices, and your users can self-register within your parameters for automatic on-boarding.

  • Enhanced security and policy compliance
EMS allows you to remotely lock or wipe lost or stolen devices, forbidding access via infrared, Bluetooth®, and Wi-Fi using Windows Mobile® lockdown. You can also set IT policies that regularly self-audit, flagging non-compliant devices.

  • Application management
Check the software installed on your devices, push new applications and updates, and remove unauthorised applications remotely.

  • Improved diagnostic capabilities
When problems occur, you can retrieve the device’s profile over-the-air and get its current settings to compare and validate, then push fixes back over-the-air to precisely target the problem, rather than guessing at solutions.

  • Heterogeneous device and network support
EMS boasts a single centralised, policy-based console for managing a wide range of HP and non-HP devices. Furthermore, EMS is network-agnostic: you can manage devices over any available HTTPS connection.

Hosted solution – perfect for smaller organisations

In addition to on-site implementation, HP EMS is also available as a fully hosted Software as a Service (SAAS) solution that allows organisations without large in-house IT departments to still get all the functionality of EMS without building out a supporting infrastructure. You may only have a few mobile devices in your business, but chances are they already take up too much of your time. Get some of that time back with the HP EMS hosted solution.
